Oklahoma???

Yep, that's right, I'm in Oklahoma, about 3 hours north of Dallas TX on Hwy 69, Mile Marker 69, just outside of a small town called Kiowa. There are a couple Indian Casino's around and a bunch of drilling rigs but not much else. I flew into Dallas yesterday, first class no less, got my rental car, a convertible Toyota at that (sometimes the General is so generous), and drove here last night. Slept most of today, working night shift tonight and get to go home tomorrow. Now, just think about all that expense, 2 one way first class flights from Daytona to Dallas & return, the rental car, food and hotel, all for one 12 hour shift of work. Sometimes it just doesn't make sence to me the way they do things but hey, it got me 36 more bonus hours so I ain't complaining.

Hell, my manager called me last week about going to Qatar for a month to relieve the Site lead. Sounded suspiciously like the time I got sent to India for the same purpose and got stuck for months... Wasn't gonna happen this time, told him to forget I exist until September unless it was short term, stateside work... but I think this will be it for the summer. I know, that sounds all to familiar but a guy can hope, right?

Gonna miss a "big" party tomorrow. Cracker's annual blowout is a big deal for us local folk in Deland. It's one of the biggest parties of the year. I should be able to catch the end of it but by the time I get there it will definately be way ahead of me and don't know if I want to deal with all those drunks without being there myself. There is a memorial run tomorrow at 10 AM that I'll miss for a friend who passed away some time back and the party starts at about 4PM so I'm sure by the time I arrive at about 8:30 things will be well in gear and striding rapidly forward...

Hey there! I'm in Qatar, don't believe they were trying to get you to my site though...Regardless, you were right to refuse it, this site is SOOOO much like India, it's ridiculous. The food and lodging is much better though, so I'm getting by.
Take care!!

so India was a problem??? Go figure!! Glad to see you back inyour blog - about gave up on you.
