Thanksgiving Weekend
Thanksgiving weekend was nice, shorter than expected but nice just the same. I got home about 6PM on Wednesday. Stacey's mom had come to visit from Indiana and Stacey had to work until 3:30 Thanksgiving Day so we went out to eat after she got off work. Nice quiet little dinner. Really didn't seem like Turkey Day to me so I ate a huge steak. It was really good!
The next day we went down to Lake Okeechobee where Stacey's sister and bro-in-law have a nice 5th wheel camper set-up on the rim canal. Took the pontoon boat down the canal through the lock and into the lake. Had a nice little cruise for a while then went back and ate fish that Andy had caught the day before. After dinner we drove the three hours back to Deland. Had left mom behind to return to Indiana with the rest of the family so we stopped at a favorite watering hole along the way. Damn had that place changed. The people who recently bought this little beer bar had shut it down for 7 days and completely gutted and rebuilt the entire place. Damn it was nice... and the prices didn't go up any either.
My bike is dead. The battery needs to be changed and I didn't have time to go get one so didn't get to ride while I was home. I had to leave a day early to come back to the plant for an inspection that got moved up a few days. I was planning on bringing it back with me but decided against it since I will be rather busy for the next few weeks before Christmas anyway. Maybe after Christmas...

Happy Thanksgiving to all y'all
I may have addressed this in the past but still think it to be kinda funny. It would seem that, here in the south the term y'all is singular. Like when someone speaks to you and says "How y'all doin'" and they are obviously speaking just to you. The other evening at Miss-A-bamas (thats right, I didn't make to New Orleans again) when the band got up to begin playing, the lead singer looked out at the crowd and said "How's all y'all doin' tonight". OK, enough on southern semantics.
Sunday, what a perfect day for me... The Miami Dolphins won again... that's a 3 game winning streak. Then, Jimmy Johnson won the Nascar Nextel Championship (the only thing that would have made this better is if Jr. could have won the Homestead race). Then, to top the evening off, the Cowboys beat the Colts to give them their first loss off the season. Break out the champagne '72 Dolphin alumni, it's party time!!!!
I hope everyone is going to have a great Thanksgiving. I'm headed home to Florida today and will drive back here to Mississippi on Monday. Looking foreward to a traditional Thanksgiving feast this year (unlike last years Thanksgiving in India).

Local Bars
Hi y'all.
It's been over a month now and I'm still hanging out in Pacsagoula, MS. I've met some nice folks and found some of the "hot spots" in the area. I'll be heading home for Thanksgiving, leaving on Wed afternoon and driving back on Monday, so it will be a nice long weekend.
When I get back, I'll be changing hotels, moving into an area where I spend most of my off time anyway. I'm in a regular room now with a small fridge and microwave but moving to a nicer extended stay hotel with a small kitchenette.
Last weekend I went to a place called Miss A-bama's. They had an exceptional southern rock/country band playing to a packed house. My back has been feeling pretty good lately so I danced a bit. First time for that since dancing in India with Jules... I had a great time, fortunately without getting to drunk since when I walked out of the bar there were cop cars all over the place. I have been drinking alot recently and have decided to cut it back so lately I've been just sipping beer and it takes me more than an hour to get two of them down so I should be OK to test if requested. I went up to one and asked what was up and he told me that the parking lot late at night has had some rather violent problems in the recent past. He asked me if I had been drinking and I told him yes but not excessively and would have no problem driving and he seemed to agree but I fully expected one of them to follow me out but they didn't. Next time I go I'll make sure I leave earlier in the evening.
There's another place, The Jazz Club, much smaller and no band but it's a nice place to meet people and apparently a lot safer than Miss A-bama's.
I still haven't made it outside the local area but may head to New Orleans this weekend.
More another day...
